Water meter in ground is the general term for hydrogeological logging devices and logging methods, that is, a set of devices and corresponding logging methods that can record the hydrogeological parameters of the drilled part during the drilling process anytime and anywhere.
The working principle of the water meter in ground is to install various sensors on the relevant parts of the drilling flushing fluid circulation system. When the borehole groundwater passes through the flushing fluid, the relevant sensors will monitor the relevant information, send it to the recording instrument, and pass it through a special computer and its software. Work to form a chart of hydrogeological parameters to achieve the purpose of measurement.

The water meter in ground measures the content of borehole groundwater, including water level (the borehole water level of pure groundwater after excluding the influence of flushing fluid); flow rate (refers to the inflow of groundwater into the borehole, or the inflow of flushing fluid equivalent to clear water into the formation ); pressure (the test pressure of the underground water meter, that is, the working pressure); water temperature (actually a certain modulus of the geothermal value in the borehole).

In order to measure the above four hydrogeological parameters, the water meter in ground measured nearly four times its modulus value, including as many as 15 items such as flushing fluid viscosity, specific gravity, sand content, air temperature, water temperature, and hours, and values include duplicate measurements before flushing fluid enters and exits the borehole.

The body of the water meter in ground consists of at least two parts—the recorder and the tail meter, and at most four parts—the recorder, the tail meter, the front meter and the back meter. Although the components are not fixed, the functions of each part which are related to the constituent tools are fixed. Such as the tail meter, it is inserted in the mud pool and looks like a crutch-sized thing. It is composed of a cubic ruler for measuring consumption and specific gravity and a current shear viscometer for measuring viscosity. The front table is a 2m-long drill pipe-sized steel body connected between the mud pump and the high-pressure rubber hose. It is composed of a modulus meter, a force meter, a pressure meter, a specific gravity meter, a field effect thermometer and a current shear viscometer. It can measure the flow rate, viscosity, specific gravity, sand content, temperature and pipe flow pressure of the flushing fluid that will enter the hole. The latter table is composed of an arc wall triangular weir (or ordinary triangular weir) installed at the proper position of the orifice, a specific gravity meter, a field effect thermometer and a current shear viscometer, which can measure the flow rate, viscosity, and Specific gravity, sand content and temperature values.
